The U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) announced that the customers of WellsSecure, a business unit of Wells Fargo Bank, will now access FAS' premier online proposal submission program, e-Offer http://www.cio.gov/eauthentication by using WellsSecure digital certificates.

 

This would be first successful public-private partnership under GSA's e-Authentication Initiative, which would be managed by the e-Authentication Identity Federation. The e-Offer programme will provide an interactive, secure electronic environment for business to submit contract proposals under five GSA multiple awards. As an E-Authentication Identity Federation member, WellsSecure can also offer credentialing services to other members by providing approved digital certificates necessary for using e-Offer and other federal online applications. These credentialing services will meet with the terms of with federal government-wide policies and standards as well as Federation business and technical standards. The e-Authentication Initiative provides the framework and managed services for a secure, consistent and standardized approach for verifying the online identity of citizens, businesses and other governments accessing federal government applications and services. The members of the Federation, government agencies can rely on identity credentials like PINs, user IDs, and passwords that are issued and managed by other organizations within and outside the federal government.
