Estonia, Europe is pushing the world's first online parliamentary election. Conventional parliamentary elections in Estonia will be held on March 4, 2007.

 

This would be the first time in the world, voters will vote through Internet for the National parliamentary election. Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will monitor the election. Voters will follow the use of remote voting by Internet. Nearly all-Estonian citizens have been issued an electronic ID card by the government. The card needs to be swiped via an electronic reader, which is available for $9. Voters need type in a code to confirm their identity, along with a digital signature required to confirm the e-Ballot choice.
