HP uses Japanese e-Governance initiative in Karnataka, (India)

Hewlett-Packard (HP) India is using Japanese technology in e-Procurement platform of Karnataka.


The software solution of HP which was implemented in Japan's government bodies is being used in Karnataka government's e-procurement platform. The Karnataka Government has singed a deal with HP to provide e-procurement platform to its people. Internet users of Karnataka would be able to see online tendering process. The total procurement by the government is around INR 13,000 crore annually and e-Procurement is expected to bring in substantial savings as well as transparency in the process. The Karnataka government has already implemented numerous e-governance projects which include online availability of land records, citizen services centre – Bangalore One, computerisation of commerical tax and RTO offices among others.
