According to a joint study by Accenture and Confederation of Indian Industry, around 88% of the Indian business leaders believe that increased use of ICT will be a major determinant in overcoming socio-economic disparities that will advance growth in the next five years.

The study is based on a wide ranging survey of more than 200 Indian business leaders covering all major industries.The study has stated that the catalytic impact of ICT would have multiplier growth opportunities across all industries. This study has shown that 94% of the businessmen believe that the use of ICT has been a major reason for India's recent economic growth, while 87% believe that socio-economic disparity is the major obstacle in the growth of Indian economy. It suggests that more investment in human capital, create coherent infrastructure that are critical in the delivery of ubiqutous access to ICT are required for helping the Indian economy capitalise on ICT-enabled growth.
