The Chief Commissioner of the Income tax department, Rajiva Deva inaugurated the help centre of e-filing of income tax return on November 4, 2006. According to Deva, now people can file their income tax returns on the internet also.

According to Rajiva Deva, the IT department has decided to set up e-filing help centres at various locations of Bihar and Jharkhand, which will include Patna, Muzaffarpur, Ranchi and Dhanbad. The facility is part of e-Governance plan for the implementation of e-Governance initiatives by the Union Government. The e-filing files can be filled from anywhere and anytime.  The steps of filing the returns of e-file have been explained on the e-filing website of the income tax department at incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Even any individual or organization filing paper returns can take the advantages of this facility.
