NREGAsoft, a software of the ministry of rural development to monitor the implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) across the country, has bagged the Microsoft e-governance award 2006.

This software, developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), makes available every minute detail about implementation of the NREGA online. A team of NIC engineers headed by technical director Madhuri Sharma developed the software, which is in use in “almost all” the states across the country.
