Angola: Action Plan of PASI comes into force

The Action Plan of the Angolan Society of Information (PASI), approved by the Cabinet Council, is in force since last August, with the publication of the First Series number 101 of the Republic Gazette, in a dispatch by the country's Prime Minister, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.

 

The initiative had in account that the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) are fundamental tools for the sustainable development of the country, taking into the deep alteration impact on the economic and social level that is being recorded worldwide based on the globalisation process. Elaborated from the Strategy of Development of the ICT, for the 2000-2010 period, the plan defends that in the emerging society of information the fundamental and sustainable engagement goes through the democratisation and the influence of the digital access, conception of new means of growth, social and economic organisation and governing. In the official organ it is defended that the PASI is the start of a deep path, extremely important for the reconstruction of the Angolan State, which demands determination and combination between decisive action and learning. This is a document that synthetises the orientations for the development of the Angolan Society of Information, as well as the projects and actions in progress.
