Nigerian ICT professionals plan free ICT training for judges and senior police officers

Nigerian ICT professionals, who are USA-based, have planned to train all the judges and senior police officers in Enugu State in ITC, without any charge.

During a courtesy call on the Enugu State Chief Judge, Justice Innocent Umezurike in his office, president of the group, Prof. Manny Aniebonam, explained that the gesture aims at making the legal profession in the country more proficient in discharging their functions. This will make them compete favourably with their counterpart in the advanced world. The body is committed towards ensuring that judges are ITC compliance before the 2007 polls, in order not to allow any form of delay in handing election petitions that may arise from the elections as experienced in 2003 elections in the country generally. He also stated that if judges in the state are ITC compliance, some of the unnecessary delays experienced in the legal system as a result of suing outdated and manual machines would be taken care of.
