UK: NeSDS launches Online Self Assessment Tool

The National eService Delivery Standards (NeSDS), UK has partnered with ESD Toolkit to launch a roll out phase supporting Local Government Transformation and has launched an Online Self Assessment Tool based around the eStandards.45 councils.

The NeSDS Programme published 10 eService Delivery Standards following wide ranging consultation. It has created a self-assessment tool hosted by ESD Toolkit, which allows Local Authorities to assess themselves against each of the e-Standards. This provides service delivery benchmarks drawn from best in breed Local Government practice so local authorities can plan their transformation strategy.

The Partnership between NeSDS and ESD Toolkit means that the e-Standards will be supported by the wider ESD Toolkit community and be made available through the regional ESD Toolkit support network.

Local Authorities are able to self assess for improvement, and also provide case studies highlighting benefits of the e-Standards in use. The service areas covered are: Customer Services, Housing, Adult Services, Highways, ICT Services, Human Resources ( HR), Trees, Property Services, Building Control, Environmental Health. Each set of standards will contain one or more levels, from Minimum, through Good to Excellent.
