BMC, Mumbai, plans for 24×7 service for citizens

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning for complete back office computerisation with e-Governance strategy. Citizens can look forward to sit in front of a computer terminal at home and get their work done.

Citizen can apply for certificates, licenses or permits online. Services will not be confined to wards and office hours. The citizen will not have to go anywhere to get things done. Whatever is being done manually now across departments will be computerised and give citizens a 24×7, single point for services and information.
