Internet revolution: A powerful mechanism for good governance

At the inaugural session of the conference on 'Effects of Corruption on Good Governance and Human Rights', the President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam said that the Internet revolution has proved to be a powerful mechanism for good governance by providing adequate access to information for citizens.

e-Governance enables seamless access to information and seamless flow of information across the state and central government in a federal set up. He said that it is the duty of the government to provide multiple facilities and services to the people and these services are required to be constantly upgraded with the use of technology for fulfilling the aspirations of the people.
