UAE issues new cyber crime law

The UAE has issued a new cyber crime law that will help the authorities to fight misuse of cyberspace.

Cyber crimes in the UAE will carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a Dh200,000 fine, according to the Cyber-Crime Law No 2 of 2006, issued by President Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The law will also seek to guard against the use of digital technology to insult any religion, a Gulf News report said.
