Elets National Transport Summit saw deliberations on innovative transport solutions

The National Summiton Transport, Highways and Port Connectivity jointly organised by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd, saw participation from key policymakers and industry leaders from across the country.

The summit was inaugurated by  Shambhu Singh, Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways and Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, Yudhvir Singh Malik, Secretary, MoRTH along with Amit Ghosh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India and  Dr Ravi Gupta, CEO, Elets Technomedia.Pvt. Ltd.

“The Ministry’s mandate is divided in a different segments-transport, regulatory and highways. Char Dham Yatra Project has been prepared. The Ministry has decided to complete all the ongoing projects rather than focusing on new projects,” said Malik at the event.

There were detailed discussions on Bharatmala led Highway Infrastructure Development Strategy led by Satyabrata Sahu, Director, Admn & Finance, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, M P Sharma, Technical Adviser, Highway Division, Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways, Government of India and R K Pandey, Member, Technical, National Highway Authority of India.

“We are working on Hunli-Anini project in Arunachal Project which is very important from defence point of view (in terms of China),”said Sahu.

K B Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, Odisha State Road Transport Corporation; Tomin J Thachankary, Chairman & Managing Director,Kerala State Road Transport Corporation;Sonal Mishra, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation Limited
and George Kuruvilla, Chairman & Managing Director, Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) also participated in the summit.

“Driver-less trucks are being used in other countries due to increase in volume of trade,” said Chandra at the event.

To ponder the shipping sector,there was participation from K K Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Sagarmala, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India;  Anoop Kumar Agarwal, Managing Director, Indian Port Rail Corporation Limited and G Sambasiva Rao, President, Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Managing Director, Sravan Shipping Services Pvt Ltd.

From the industry, Abhyuday Jindal,Managing Director, Jindal Stainless Limited; Ranit Rana, Deputy General Manager (Product & Market Development), Jindal Stainless Limited and  Arun Budakoti, Industry Head, Transportation, DTO, Cisco India presented their vision in front of the policymakers.

Delegates from different Government departments and private companies were also present on the occasion.

More than seven companies including GR Infrastructure, Gawar Constructions and Indian Port Rail Corporation showcased their products and solutions  at the expo.

More than 12 companies have supported this summit as sponsors.

This was the second transport summit organised by Elets.
