Arunachal takes digital plunge: no more manual movement of files

Arunachal_Pradesh_Seal.svgThe Arunachal Pradesh government is well on its way to go digital with the implementation of an e-Office suite in the State Civil Secretariat, which will do away with the manual movement of files.

To ensure its smooth and timely execution, a Project Steering Committee and a Project Implementation Committee has also been set up which will be followed by a comprehensive training module for all the users of the application. Digitization of legacy data would also be undertaken to ensure continuity.

This system will pave way for speedy processing of files as the same will be approved taking electronic signatures of the decision-makers. This will also ensure transparency in government functioning.

The decision to implement the plan was taken during a high level official meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin at Itanagar. Earlier, the team from National Informatics Centre, Delhi made a detailed presentation of the “e-Office Suite”- a successful government office solution developed by NIC.

The application in addition to the file management system also has provision for Knowledge Management System, e-Leave, e-Tour, e-Service book, Information Management System and Collaboration and Messaging Services.
