Muraleedharan, USOF Administrator and BBNL CMD Aruna Sundararajan, Kerala Leader of the Opposition V S Achuthanandan, Kerala Chief Secretary E K Bharat Bhushan, Telecom Secretary Rakesh Garg and P H Kurien – Principal Secretary – Department of Industries, at the site of Commissioning in Thiruvanantpuram.
PeopleLink connected Edamalakudy, a remote village in Devikulam Taluk of Idukki district, which still does not have adequate water, electricity or the basic transportation, over video conferencing for the first time. This Village was able to connect on PeopleLink Video Conferencing with the Union Minister and the Chief Minister. Edamalakudy, which comprises 26 tribal villages majorly housing Muthuvan tribes, was able to taste the visual technology at the lowest possible bandwidths to win their right of accessing the services offered by the government to empower them.
PeopleLink Video Conference also connected P J Joseph – leader of the Kerala Congress party in Kerala, Joyce George – MP, Roshy Augustine – MLA and block residents of Idukki district with the Chief Minister. PeopleLink connected all the dignitaries with Idukki block President A P Usman to conclude the event making Idukki the first district to get Hi-Speed Broadband under NOFN.
