Subodh leads the team that is responsible for marketing and deployment of private networks for public safety, defence, railways and enterprise customers. This includes two way radio networks as well as networks based on wireless broadband technologies for campus and municipal Wi-Fi, point to point and point to multi-point connectivity. Subodh is also introducing defence, transportation (railways, airports, seaports etc) and enterprise customers to state of the art communications technologies.
Economics is one area where ICTs have made an impact. For example, IDRC-supported research has shown how mobile phones and Internet technology have increased the income-levels of Senegalese small-scale farmers and fishermen, by giving them reliable, up-to-date information on market prices, and strengthening their positions as they negotiated prices with buyers.
