Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has announced the appointment of Mritunjay Pratap Singh, former Principal Executive Director (Works), as Director (Operations) with effect from November 26, 2024. Singh, a 1991 batch Indian Railway Service of Engineering (IRSE) officer, will hold the position until June 30, 2028, or until further orders, as stated in an official filing.

The RVNL Board of Directors has also appointed Singh as an Additional Director on the same date, replacing Sandeep Jain, who ceases to be associated with the company. The appointment was confirmed through a Ministry of Railways order approved by the President of India.

Singh, known for his extensive expertise in railway project management, has led the successful execution of significant infrastructure projects, including the Aligarh-Ghaziabad third line and the Palwal-Bhuteshwar third line. With a robust academic background, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from MNIT Jaipur, a Master’s from IIT Roorkee, an MBA from IIT Delhi, and a certification in Project and Infrastructure Finance from the London Business School.

At the time of the announcement, RVNL shares were trading at ₹445.30, reflecting a 2.60% rise on the NSE. Singh’s appointment bolsters RVNL’s leadership team, which includes Chairman Pradeep Gaur and other domain experts.

RVNL confirmed Singh has not faced any regulatory restrictions in holding the directorship. The company expressed confidence in his ability to drive operational excellence and infrastructure development in the coming years.
