Andra Vamsi appointed PS to Union MoS for Home Affairs, Vinay Pratap Singh made Municipal Commissioner Chandigarh

IAS Andra Vamsi, a 2011-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer, has been appointed as the Private Secretary to Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, for a five-year term at the Deputy Secretary level. Vamsi will assume his role on a co-terminus basis or until further orders. Previously, he served as the District Magistrate of Jhansi.

In a separate development, IAS Vinay Pratap Singh, a 2011-batch Haryana cadre officer, has been assigned additional charge as the Municipal Corporation Commissioner of Chandigarh. Singh was last posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh and had also served as the District Collector. He replaces Anindita Mitra, a 2007-batch IAS officer, after her three-year tenure as Commissioner. Mitra’s responsibilities will now be handled by the Deputy Commissioner, except for the role of Chief Electoral Officer, for which separate orders will be issued pending approval from the Election Commission of India.
