Appointments: Manoj Saunik to Lead MahaRERA, Hareet Shukla appointed Chief Electoral Officer, Gujarat

The Government of Maharashtra has appointed Manoj Saunik, a retired IAS officer from the 1987 batch and former Maharashtra Chief Secretary, as the new Chairman of the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA). He will succeed Ajoy Mehta, an IAS officer from the 1984 batch, who will step down in September. Mr. Saunik is the spouse of the current Maharashtra Chief Secretary, Ms. Sujata Saunik.


In Gujarat, B H Talati, a 2010-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Special Director at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) in Ahmedabad. Additionally, Hareet Shukla, a 1999-batch IAS officer, has been named the state’s new Chief Electoral Officer and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary in the General Administration Department (Election). P D Palsana, a 2012-batch IAS officer, will take on the role of Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation.

Meanwhile, Priyatu Mandal, a 2006-batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed Director & Head of the Institute of the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee National Institute of Water and Sanitation (SPM-NIWAS) in Kolkata, under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
