The Government of Karnataka, on April 9, issued official orders for the appointment of Rakesh Singh as the Managing Director (MD) of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL). The 1989-Batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, is also serving as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Water Resources Department and working as the Administrator of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
Following the appointment of Ajay Seth (IAS 1987-Batch) as Secretary, Economic Affairs, Government of India, the post of MD, BMRCL turned vacant and Rakesh Singh has been assigned to assume the charge.
