In a major change in Uttar Pradesh bureaucratic structure, a 1988-batch IAS officer Navneet Sehgal has been made the new Additional Chief Secretary of Information and Public Relations department. Sehgal is currently serving as ACS M.S.M.E. and Export Promotion & Chairman, BIDA, UPSIC, IED / Uttar Pradesh Handicraft Development and Marketing Corporation / Export Commissioner, Bureau of Export Promotion.
Sehgal has replaced Awanish Kumar Awasthi who will continue to hold Home and other departments.
Notably, Sehgal was also handling Information and Public Relations department during Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav governments.

Also, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Prasad has been given additional charge of Principal Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department.
