Delhi govt puts up status of ration cards online

To streamline public utility services, the Delhi Government has started putting records online. To start with, the Food Supply and Consumer Affairs department has uploaded information related to ration cards, distribution of rations, and performance of officials of the department online.

Food Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Asim Ahmed Khan said real-time information about pendency and disposal of applications for food security and ration cards by inspectors and food and supply officers has been made available on the department’s website.

The department has 70 offices in city, where applications for grant of food security can be submitted. Each office has one Food & Supply Officer and Inspector who scrutinise the applications and decides eligibility of the applicants to get food security under the National Food Security Act 2013.
