As part of the ‘smart city’ initiative, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will install ‘smart signage’ at heritage sites and monuments which fall under its jurisdiction.
“A total of 160 signage will be installed at around 40 locations. Specially-designed boards will be used for the purpose, which will bear brief descriptions for the sites,” said OP Mishra, Director (Projects), NDMC. “The detailed information will be available on scanning the Quick Response (QR) codes printed on the signage using smart phones.”
“A website is being developed which will have detailed information about history, directions to the place, etc. about all heritage sites or monuments in the NDMC area,” he added.

The signage is likely to be installed by March 15.
