Senior IAS officer Depinder Singh Dhesi has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Haryana.

A 1982 batch IAS officer, D S Dhesi has replaced P K Gupta. He will also hold the charge of General Administration, Personnel, Training, Vigilance, Parliamentary Affairs and Administrative Reforms Departments and Secretary Incharge of Plan Coordination.

Dhesi had been on central deputation since 2010. He was holding the charge of Additional Secretary in the ministry of Commerce and also holding additional charge of CMD of Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India Ltd (MMTC).
