Soon people of Tamil Nadu (TN) would be able to book bus ticket online. Tamil Nadu (India) State Transport Corporation is making available online ticket service for the state buses.

Transport Corporation will sign an MoU with a Bangalore-based company, to implement the scheme. The cost of booking the ticket would be INR 3.50 per ticket. The company will provide the software as well hardware. The online booking facility will be introduced on more than 700 routes within the state as well as to the neighbouring states. The scheme will cover more than 1,000 buses plying under the Tamil Nadu State Express undertaking. The government is also keen on introducing GPS (Geographic Positioning System) in express buses after the approval of cabinet.
