African countries can learn lessons of e-Agriculture from India. Rachid Benmessaoud, Operation Adviser of the World Bank said that India could assist African countries in adopting potential benefits from e-Agriculture.

 

India is taking number of initiative steps to put e-Agriculture in practice. These steps, include e-Krishi Vipanan in Madhya Pradesh, Warna Wired Village Project in Maharastra, i-Kisan Project in Andhra Pradesh and Tanil Nadu. Apart from that, ITC's e-Choupal is also growing in various states of the country. While sharing the Bank's view on agriculture at an Indo-African summit, Rachid said that it would be interesting to explore how India could help African countries is capturing potential benefits from e-Agriculture. World Bank is also providing 200 million dollar for agricultural research in India.
