India based enterprise data and network services provider, Tulip IT Services, has bagged rural e-Governance projects from state governments of India.
The firm is targeting for government tenders to empower its growth in this segment. State governments are planning to invest INR 3,334 million over five years on rural connectivity to promote e-Governance. Tulip has already won the contract from Haryana government under the State-Wide Area Network (SWAN) project. Several other state governments including Maharashtra, Punjab, and West Bengal have floated their tenders for setting up SWANs. Tulip's project covers 800 cities of the country and now the company is targeting rural areas, small towns for network coverage. Tulip is planning to launch data centres in Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore.
