AAEON to Showcase the Next Wave of Edge AI Applications at Smart City Expo 2026

AAEON will present five live edge AI demonstrations at Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona from 3 to 5 November 2026, covering urban mobility, safety, robotics and agentic automation.

At a glance

  • Five live demonstrations at Hall 3, Booth C163, Fira de Barcelona, built on NVIDIA Jetson platforms
  • Applications span real-time traffic analytics, emergency detection, drone vision, agentic AI workflows and human-machine interaction
  • A new rugged tablet, the RTC-1210-Orin NX, will be unveiled alongside a roadmap showcase featuring NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor products

Why it matters: Edge AI is increasingly central to smart-city infrastructure, and live deployments at a major global forum signal growing commercial readiness.

AAEON, a provider of edge AI computing solutions, has announced it will participate in Smart City Expo World Congress at Fira de Barcelona, Spain, from 3 to 5 November 2026. The company will occupy Booth C163 in Hall 3, where it plans to run five simultaneous live demonstrations across key smart-city verticals.

The expo, now in its 15th year, brings together leaders from industry, government and civic organisations to explore how emerging technologies can improve urban life. AAEON's presence will be built around NVIDIA Jetson-accelerated hardware, with each demonstration developed in partnership with software and hardware ecosystem partners.

What will be demonstrated

The first demonstration will feature the MAXER-5000 AI inference server, powered by the NVIDIA Jetson T5000 module. It will run an agentic spatial workflow from ANIWEAVE, using Avalanche Computing's compliance-ready software platform to deliver secure, policy-governed AI operations within internal network environments.

A second station will show the BOXER-8652AI, a compact fanless embedded system running the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX. Integrated with Isarsoft Perception software, it will deliver real-time traffic analytics at the edge to support safer urban mobility.

The BOXER-8621AI, powered by NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, will demonstrate USB camera-based object detection for drone vision applications. The solution combines Network Optix Meta and Ultralytics YOLO for detection, with device identity and AI model security from SandGrain, remote management from Balena, and runtime protection from Exein.

AAEON's fourth demonstration will centre on the BOXER-8640AI, accelerated by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin, as part of an emergency detection and response system. Using A.I Tech's suite of more than 20 applications and protocols, the setup will show how AI-driven video analytics can identify urban hazards such as adverse road or weather conditions.

New product revealed

AAEON will use the expo to unveil the RTC-1210-Orin NX, a new rugged tablet designed for field deployment. The device will be demonstrated alongside Pollen Robotics' Reachy Mini, a companion robot intended to enable natural human-machine interaction, illustrating how ruggedised edge hardware can support interactive robotics in real-world settings.

What else visitors will find

Beyond the five live stations, the booth will include a dedicated showcase area displaying upcoming products from AAEON's development roadmap. These upcoming platforms will be accelerated by both NVIDIA Jetson Orin and the newer NVIDIA Jetson Thor modules, offering a forward look at the company's edge AI product direction.
