The Himachal Pradesh Government has assigned additional responsibilities to five Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, entrusting them with key roles across departments including industries, tourism, energy, transport, and digital governance.
The orders, issued by Governor Kavinder Gupta, have come into effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.
Five IAS Officers Given Additional Responsibilities
As part of the latest administrative exercise, the officers will continue to discharge their existing duties while taking on additional assignments to ensure the smooth functioning of important government departments.

The officers entrusted with new responsibilities are:
- Aditya Negi (IAS: 2013: HP), Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB), has been given the additional charge of Director of Industries, Shimla.
- Kamal Kant Saroch (IAS: 2013: HP), Chief Executive Officer, HIMURJA, will also serve as Director of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
- Shubh Karan Singh (IAS), currently serving as Special Secretary (Education), has been assigned the additional charge of Director of Energy.
- Shivam Pratap Singh (IAS), Director of Youth Services and Sports, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC).
- Abhishek Verma (IAS), Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh MILKFED, has been given the additional charge of Director of Digital Technologies and Governance, Shimla.
Focus on Administrative Continuity
The government said the additional charge arrangements are intended to ensure uninterrupted functioning of key departments until regular appointments are made or further orders are issued.
The move is expected to strengthen administrative coordination across sectors such as energy, tourism, industrial development, transport, and digital governance while maintaining continuity in policy implementation and public service delivery.
