The Jharkhand government has carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 36 IAS officers across multiple departments and districts in an effort to strengthen governance and streamline administrative functioning across the state.
The Department of Personnel issued an official notification announcing fresh postings, departmental changes and additional responsibilities for several senior and mid-level officers. The reshuffle impacts key sectors including Health, Finance, Information Technology, Agriculture, Rural Development, Tourism, Water Resources and School Education.
Major Appointments Across Departments
Among the prominent changes, Chhavi Ranjan has been appointed Director, Sports, and has also been given additional charge of the Sports Authority.
Shashi Prakash Jha, who was serving as Mission Director, has been assigned additional charge as Managing Director, Medical & Health Infrastructure.
Zishan Qamar, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Special Secretary, Drinking Water Department.
Rajiv Ranjan has been posted as Special Secretary, Information Technology, while Vijay Kumar Gupta has been made In-charge Divisional Commissioner, North Chotanagpur.
Key Changes in Finance, Forest and Water Departments
The reshuffle also includes several important postings in finance and administrative departments:
- Faiz Aq Ahmed Mumtaz → Additional Secretary, Land Revenue
- Bhor Singh Yadav → Additional Secretary, Forest & Environment
- Satyendra Kumar → Additional Secretary, Drinking Water
- R. Ronita → Additional Secretary, Water Resources
- Karn Satyarthi → Additional Secretary, Finance
- Prerana Dixit → Additional Secretary, Rural Development
- Kumar Tarachand → Additional Secretary, Water Resources
- Kirthishree G. → Additional Secretary, Home (Prisons)
Varun Ranjan, Garima Singh and Chandan Kumar Get New Roles
Several officers have been assigned important leadership responsibilities in corporations and technology bodies.
- Varun Ranjan has been appointed Managing Director, JEMCL
- Garima Singh has been given additional charge as Chief Executive, Chief Minister’s Small & Cottage Enterprises Corporation
- Chandan Kumar has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, JAP-IT
- Anilson Lakra has been posted as Excise Commissioner
- Priti Rani has been appointed Director, Handlooms
Tourism, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Departments Reshuffled
The state government has also made significant changes in development-oriented departments:
- Naman Priyesh Lakra → Director, Tourism
- Vidyanand Sharma Pankaj → Director, Agriculture
- Robin Toppo → Director, Animal Husbandry
- Alok Shikari → Managing Director, Scheduled Tribes Cooperative Corporation
- Madhavi Mishra → Director, Information Technology, with additional charge of JSAC
Health and Education Departments See New Appointments
The Health and Education sectors also witnessed multiple changes:
- Shashi Prakash Singh → Additional Secretary, Health, with additional charge of JASAS
- Samira S. → Joint Secretary, School Education
- Dinesh Kumar Yadav → Joint Secretary, Health
- Anjali Yadav → Controller of Examinations, Joint Competitive Examination Board
District Administration Gets New Officers
The reshuffle also includes important district-level changes aimed at strengthening field administration.
- Pashupati Nath Mishra → Deputy Commissioner, Garhwa
- Ananya Mittal → Chief Executive Officer, JSLPS
- Saurabh Kumar Bhuwania → Deputy Commissioner, Deoghar
- Javed Hasan → Deputy Commissioner, Khunti
- Vistupe Srikanth → Deputy Development Commissioner, Godda
- Animesh Ranjan → Deputy Development Commissioner, Gumla
Governance and Administrative Efficiency in Focus
Officials said the large-scale reshuffle has been undertaken to improve departmental coordination, strengthen district administration and fill several key vacancies across government departments.
