Punjab Transfers 2 IAS Officers; Poonamdeep Kaur Appointed Sangrur Deputy Commissioner

The Punjab Government has carried out a minor administrative reshuffle, transferring two IAS officers and making changes in the leadership of Sangrur and Faridkot districts as part of routine governance adjustments.

IAS officer Poonamdeep Kaur (2013 batch) has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Sangrur. She replaces Rahul Chaba, who was previously serving in the post.

Her appointment is expected to ensure continuity in district administration while strengthening governance and public service delivery in Sangrur.


Rahul Chaba Posted as Faridkot DC

IAS officer Rahul Chaba (2017 batch), who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Sangrur, has now been transferred and appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Faridkot.

With this move, Chaba will oversee administrative affairs in Faridkot district and bring his field administration experience to the new assignment.

Routine Administrative Reshuffle

Officials said the transfers are part of routine bureaucratic changes undertaken periodically by the state government to maintain administrative efficiency and improve district-level governance.

The reshuffle involving Poonamdeep Kaur and Rahul Chaba is expected to ensure smooth administrative functioning and effective implementation of government programmes in both districts.
