The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Amit Tandon as Director (Projects) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), officials said on Friday.
RVNL is a key public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, responsible for executing major rail infrastructure projects across the country, including new line construction, doubling, electrification and station redevelopment.
With his appointment, Tandon will oversee the planning and execution of RVNL’s project portfolio, which plays a critical role in expanding railway capacity and improving connectivity across regions.

Officials said his leadership is expected to support faster project implementation, tighter monitoring and efficient coordination with multiple stakeholders involved in large-scale railway works.
An official familiar with the decision said, “The appointment brings continuity and experienced leadership to RVNL’s project execution framework at a time when railway infrastructure expansion is accelerating.”
