NCEL and RAJFED Sign MoU

In a strategic move to boost the international visibility and market presence of Rajasthan’s cooperative products, the Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd. (RAJFED) and National Cooperative Exports Ltd. (NCEL) signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday. This collaboration is part of the ongoing “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” initiative being actively implemented in the state under the leadership of Gautam Kumar Dak, Minister of State for Cooperatives, and the guidance of Manju Rajpal, Principal Secretary and Registrar of Cooperative Societies.

The MoU was signed at the RAJFED headquarters by Tikam Chand Bohra, Managing Director of RAJFED, and Anupam Kaushik, Managing Director of NCEL. The agreement aims to provide a platform for products manufactured and marketed by Rajasthan’s cooperative societies to gain access to international markets, thus enabling economic growth at the grassroots level.

This strategic partnership is expected to directly benefit cooperative society members by opening up new avenues in the global export sector. It will enhance the visibility of Rajasthan’s high-quality cooperative products on the international stage, thereby boosting the income of these societies and contributing to rural prosperity.

The Government of India has already taken proactive measures to support cooperative-based economic development by establishing three multi-state cooperative societies at the national level. In this regard, the Rajasthan government has designated RAJFED as the nodal agency for implementing these initiatives in the state. Previously, RAJFED had entered into similar MoUs with the Indian Seed Cooperative Society Ltd. and the National Cooperative Organics Ltd., demonstrating its commitment to promoting diverse cooperative products in both domestic and global markets.

The signing event was attended by key officials, including Dr. Amit Sharma, General Manager (HRD) of RAJFED; R.S. Jodha, Consultant for the “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” programme; and Sunil Chapola, representative from the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), along with other dignitaries and senior officials.

This MoU signifies a major step forward in empowering cooperative institutions by expanding their reach and enhancing their contribution to the state’s economic development. Through this collaborative framework, Rajasthan’s cooperative sector is poised to gain greater global recognition while strengthening the self-reliance and economic empowerment of its members.
