Kundan Kumar Mishra Takes Charge as MMTC Director (Finance)

MMTC Ltd has appointed Kundan Kumar Mishra as its new Director (Finance), strengthening the company’s senior management team.

Mishra assumed charge of the position on August 3, 2026, following approval from the Government of India. His appointment is for a five-year term.

Appointment Approved by the Government

According to MMTC’s regulatory filing, Mishra’s appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) based on the recommendation of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).


The company subsequently informed the stock exchanges after completing the required corporate formalities.

Nearly Three Decades of Finance Experience

Mishra brings around 28 years of experience in finance and corporate management.

He is a graduate in Chemistry and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

Before joining MMTC, Mishra was associated with NTPC Limited, where he served as Additional General Manager and held various responsibilities during his career.

Experience at NTPC and KBUNL

At NTPC, Mishra served as Additional General Manager (Business Development), among other assignments.

He also worked as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of KBUNL, an NTPC subsidiary. In that role, he was involved in areas including financial planning, budgeting, stakeholder engagement and strategic financial management.

His experience across these functions brings a combination of financial expertise and corporate management experience to his new role at MMTC.

New Responsibilities at MMTC

As Director (Finance), Mishra will oversee the company’s financial operations and play a key role in areas such as budgeting and long-term financial planning.

MMTC also confirmed that Mishra is not debarred by SEBI or any other regulatory authority from holding the office of Director.

His appointment marks a new phase in MMTC’s financial leadership, with his extensive experience in the public-sector power industry expected to support the company’s financial and strategic operations.
