The Tamil Nadu government has carried out a minor administrative reshuffle, transferring two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and assigning them new responsibilities in key departments. The latest orders are aimed at strengthening administrative functioning through strategic postings across the state government.
The reshuffle includes the appointment of R Lilly as Commissioner of Stationery and Printing, while Dr R Sukumar has been moved to the Municipal Administration Department.

R Lilly Gets New Assignment
R Lilly, a 2005-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Commissioner, Stationery and Printing. Before her new posting, she was serving as Special Secretary in the Transport Department.
She takes over the position following a government order issued under the provisions of the IAS (Cadre) Rules, replacing Dr R Sukumar.
Dr R Sukumar Moved to Municipal Administration
Dr R Sukumar, a 2019-batch IAS officer, has been transferred from his role as Director, Stationery and Printing and appointed as Joint Commissioner, Municipal Administration.
In his new role, he will be associated with urban governance and the implementation of municipal administration initiatives across the state.

Routine Administrative Exercise
The transfer orders are part of the Tamil Nadu government’s regular administrative exercise to deploy officers in roles where their experience can support efficient governance and improved public service delivery.

With the new postings taking effect immediately, both officers are expected to assume charge of their respective assignments and continue the smooth functioning of their departments.
