The Karnataka government has carried out a minor administrative reshuffle, transferring four IAS officers and making key changes across district administration and the Finance Department to strengthen governance and streamline responsibilities.
Fouzia Taranum Moves to Rural Development Role
IAS officer Fouzia Taranum B (2015 batch), who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Kalaburagi, has been appointed as Commissioner of the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department in Bengaluru.
She replaces Randeep D, who was holding the position on concurrent charge.
Mohammed Ikramulla Shariff Takes Charge in Kalaburagi
IAS officer Mohammed Ikramulla Shariff (2016 batch), earlier posted as Joint Secretary (Budget and Resources) in the Finance Department, has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Kalaburagi.
He succeeds Fouzia Taranum, taking charge of district administration at a crucial time.
Key Changes in Finance Department
The reshuffle also includes important postings in the Finance Department:
- Dr Gopal Krishna B (2018 batch), who was serving as Deputy Secretary to Government-3, has been transferred as Deputy Secretary (Budget and Resources), Finance Department.
- Ruchi Bindal (2020 batch), previously CEO of Zilla Panchayat, Haveri, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary to Government-3, replacing Dr Gopal Krishna B.
Focus on Governance and Administrative Balance
The reshuffle, involving Fouzia Taranum B, Mohammed Ikramulla Shariff, Dr Gopal Krishna B, Ruchi Bindal, and Randeep D, reflects routine administrative adjustments aimed at improving efficiency and ensuring balanced deployment of officers.
