The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Jawed Ashraf (Retd IFS: 1991) as Chairman of the India Trade Promotion Organisation for a two-year term on a contract basis, placed in Level-17 of the pay matrix.
Separately, Neeraj Kharwal (IAS: 2007: UK) was appointed as Managing Director (Joint Secretary level), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under the Department of Commerce, for a five-year tenure effective November 1, 2025; however, he has not assumed charge to date.
In addition, the tenure of additional charge assigned to Ajay Bhadoo (IAS: 1999: GJ), Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, as Director General of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade has been extended from October 21, 2025, to January 20, 2026.
