Saleem Ahmad recommended as next CMD of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited

Saleem Ahmad is set to become the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways. His name was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on October 4. Currently, Ahmad serves as Director (Projects) at NBCC (India) Limited.


Ahmad emerged as the preferred candidate for the CMD post from a list of 10 candidates interviewed by the PESB Selection Panel on October 4. Among the 10, five candidates were from RVNL, while the remaining included representatives from CONCOR, NBCC (India) Limited, IRCON, RailTel, and Indian Railways.

As CMD of RVNL, Ahmad will serve as the company’s Chief Executive, accountable to its Board of Directors and the Government. He will be responsible for enhancing production and ensuring the efficient functioning of the company to achieve its corporate objectives and performance benchmarks.
