Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commended the milestone of 10 years of the Digital India initiative, celebrating a decade of transformative impact on the nation. Reflecting on the journey, the Prime Minister emphasized how the initiative has profoundly touched millions of lives and ushered in a new era of empowerment through technology.

Marking the occasion on social media platform X, the Prime Minister shared a thread by MyGovIndia, stating, “Today is a historic day as we mark #10YearsOfDigitalIndia! Ten years ago, Digital India began as an initiative to transform our nation into a digitally empowered and technologically advanced society.”

Highlighting the initiative’s wide-reaching success, he remarked, “A decade later, we stand witness to a journey that has touched countless lives and ushered in a new era of empowerment. India has made many strides in digital payments, powered by the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians. Sectors like health and education have also benefitted from this initiative.”

Digital India is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The programme was launched on July 1, 2015 by Hon’ Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
