Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal inaugurated the National Feeder Monitoring System (NFMS) Control Centre at REC Limited’s headquarters in Gurugram on its 55th Foundation Day. The event was also attended by the Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy and senior officials from REC, RECPDCL, and the Ministry of Power.
The NFMS, developed by RECPDCL, is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Power aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the power distribution ecosystem. With real-time monitoring of approximately 2.5 lakh (11kV) feeders across 87 DISCOMs, the NFMS enables precise tracking of power supply hours, outages, and feeder health. The dedicated control centre will ensure daily monitoring, data integrity, and communication of insights to DISCOMs for improved performance and service reliability.

Lauding the initiative, the Union Minister emphasized that the control centre is a leap towards leveraging technology to transform power distribution in India. He expressed confidence that it would significantly contribute to providing reliable and continuous electricity to every household, reinforcing the government’s mission of 24×7 power for all.

To mark the occasion, the Minister also participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign by planting saplings at the REC office premises, further promoting environmental stewardship alongside technological advancement.
