The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched the first edition of Tec-Verse 2025, a landmark two-day exhibition held on June 27–28, to spotlight more than 150 cutting-edge technologies developed by its premier R&D organisations, C-DAC, C-MET, and SAMEER. Inaugurated by S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, the event aims to catalyse the transformation of publicly funded research into commercially viable, market-ready products across key sectors.
During his keynote address, Secretary Krishnan underscored India’s transition from a service-oriented to a product-led innovation economy. “Tec-Verse marks a decisive step in transforming publicly funded research into market-ready products, aligning with India’s ambition to become a true product nation,” he said. The event is a strategic initiative to connect research with industry from the early stages, ensuring development is driven by real-world challenges and commercial viability.
The opening day saw a high-profile presence, including Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, MeitY; Ms. Caralyn Khongwar Deshmukh, Additional Secretary (Social Justice/Welfare); Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar; and top leadership from CDAC, C-MET, SAMEER, and industry stakeholders. The event drew participation from over 1,000 delegates comprising policymakers, academia, industry leaders, startups, and researchers.
Highlighting the success of day one, the event facilitated the launch of 4 new tech products, 8 technology transfers (ToTs), and 15 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading companies like TCS, BEL, L&T, Voltix Semicon Pvt. Ltd, and SCL-Mohali. The partnerships span strategic domains such as Industry 4.0, India Sovereign Cloud, LTCC package development, and next-generation semiconductors.
Speaking at the event, Shri Amitesh Sinha emphasised the importance of industry-research collaboration. “Tec-Verse offers an unprecedented platform where more than 150 deep-tech innovations, from quantum computing to 6G communication, are being showcased. These technologies reflect the transformative potential of Indian R&D,” he said. He invited industry stakeholders to explore co-development opportunities across domains such as artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, atmospheric sciences, health tech, automotive systems, and energy storage.
Tec-Verse 2025 stands as a testament to MeitY’s mission of fostering a robust, collaborative innovation ecosystem that aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Through C-DAC’s computational advancements, C-MET’s materials innovation, and SAMEER’s electronics expertise, MeitY is actively enabling technology-led solutions for societal impact in sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and telecom.
This flagship initiative not only celebrates India’s indigenous R&D strength but also sets the tone for annual showcases that will drive deeper public-private partnerships, scale indigenous innovations, and position India at the forefront of global deep-tech leadership.
