In a significant administrative reshuffle—the first since the return of the Hemant Soren-led government for a second consecutive term—the Jharkhand government has transferred Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 20 districts. The decision was formalised through a notification issued by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language.

Among the key appointments, IAS Aditya Ranjan (2015 batch), who was serving as Director of Information Technology, has been made the Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad. Ajay Nath Jha, currently Tribal Welfare Commissioner, will take charge as DC of Bokaro. Faiz Ak Ahmed (2014 batch), Director of Horticulture, has been posted as DC of Ramgarh.


Other notable transfers include Ram Niwas Yadav (2015 batch), Director of Higher Education, now DC of Giridih; R. Ronita (2015 batch), Director of JSAC, posted to Khunti; and Naman Priyesh Lakra (2015 batch), outgoing DC of Giridih, now DC of Deoghar. Anjali Yadav (2015 batch), Director of Tourism, becomes DC of Godda.

In East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur), Karan Satyarthi (2016 batch), formerly DC of Gumla, has been given charge. Chandan Kumar, earlier DC of Ramgarh, moves to West Singhbhum (Chaibasa). Kanchan Singh, CEO of JSLPS, has been appointed DC of Simdega.


Further reshuffle includes Nitish Kumar Singh (2017 batch), Director of Audit, as DC of Seraikela-Kharsawan; and Prerna Dixit (2017 batch), MD of Ziada, as DC of Gumla. Shashi Prakash Singh (2011 batch) becomes DC of Hazaribagh, and Kumar Tarachand (2017 batch), Director of Agriculture, is now DC of Lohardaga. Kirtishree G (2017 batch), MD of Jharcraft, has been appointed DC of Chatra.

Abhijit Sinha (2018 batch) is promoted from Deputy Development Commissioner to DC of Dumka, while Rituraj (2018 batch) takes charge as DC of Koderma. Sameera S (2018 batch), Director of the Jharkhand State Child Protection Society, will now serve as DC of Palamu.

Additionally, Ravi Anand (2018 batch), Joint Secretary, Personnel, Jamtara, and Dinesh Yadav (2018 batch), Deputy Development Commissioner, Ranchi, have been posted as Deputy Commissioners of Garhwa.
