In a significant move to advance artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and skilling across India, Intel Corporation India and the IndiaAI Mission have announced a strategic collaboration. Formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), this partnership empowers students, startups, and public sector leaders by enhancing their AI competencies and expanding digital inclusion nationwide.

The collaboration is centred on four core initiatives: YuvaAI, StartupAI, IndiaAI Dialogues, and the extension of BHASHINI, Digital India’s language technology platform, to underserved regions. Each program targets a distinct segment of the AI ecosystem, aiming to create a widespread and inclusive impact.

YuvaAI, part of Intel’s globally recognised AI for Youth program, focuses on enabling school students to conceptualise and build AI-driven solutions that address real-world social challenges. Through hands-on learning and mentorship, the initiative aims to nurture future innovators who can leverage AI for community development and societal progress.

StartupAI, another key pillar of the partnership, is dedicated to supporting the growth of AI-focused startups. Through the Intel Startup Program, emerging enterprises will gain access to advanced technology platforms, business development support, and expert mentorship. This initiative is designed to foster innovation and accelerate the market readiness of AI solutions developed by India’s vibrant startup ecosystem.

The IndiaAI Dialogues and Intel Digital Readiness for Leaders program will offer curated workshops and immersive training experiences to build AI readiness among policymakers and public sector leaders. These sessions aim to equip decision-makers with the necessary knowledge and tools to implement AI-driven governance reforms and policy frameworks effectively.

A vital component of the collaboration is the expansion of BHASHINI’s reach to remote and underserved regions. By enhancing access to multilingual digital education tools, the initiative seeks to bridge language barriers and provide equitable learning opportunities to students across the country. This effort is expected to transform classroom experiences by introducing AI-PC-based personalised learning, even in the most isolated areas.

Commenting on the partnership, Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and CEO of the IndiaAI Mission, highlighted the transformative potential of the collaboration. “Our partnership with Intel for YuvaAI has already enabled thousands of students to gain foundational AI skills. We are excited to deepen this collaboration to bring global expertise and resources to the IndiaAI Mission,” Singh stated.

In addition to the existing programs, the partnership includes the establishment of a dedicated data lab aimed at providing practical training in data science and AI. This facility is expected to further strengthen India’s talent pool in emerging technologies, ensuring the next generation is well-prepared to lead in a digital future.
