
In a significant administrative move, the Maharashtra government has issued transfer orders for 21 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including Superintendents of Police (SP) and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), across various districts. The reshuffle, announced by the state home department on Thursday, features several high-profile changes, aimed at reinforcing law and order across the state.
Among the notable names is Shaurya Chakra awardee Somay Munde, a 2016 batch IPS officer, who has been transferred from his post as SP Latur to take charge as DCP, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Munde earned national recognition for his leadership in a high-risk anti-Naxal operation.

Another key figure, Archit Chandak, a 2018 batch officer who was injured during communal unrest in Nagpur earlier this year, has been posted as SP, Akola. Chandak previously served as DCP in Nagpur.

Major District-Level Changes:

The reshuffle includes SP reassignments in 12 districts:

- Raigad SP Somnath Gharge has been moved to Ahilyanagar, with Anchal Dalal, Commandant of Pune’s SRPF, taking charge in Raigad.
- Ahilyanagar SP Rakesh Ola, Satara SP Sameer Shaikh, and Assistant Inspector General Raj Tilak Roshan have been posted as DCPs in Mumbai.
- Kolhapur SP Mahendra Pandit will now serve as DCP, Thane City.
- Mumbai DCP Mangesh Shinde has been appointed SP, Nagpur Railway Police, replacing Tushar Doshi, who becomes SP, Satara.

Additional Notable Transfers:
- Mohan Dahikar, DCP, has been named SP, Sindhudurg.
- Jayant Meena from the ATS has been appointed SP, Latur.
- Balasaheb Patil moves from SP Palghar to SP Nashik Rural, while Yatish Deshmukh, currently Additional SP, Gadchiroli, takes charge in Palghar.
- Other appointments include Yogeshkumar Gupta as SP Kolhapur, Nilesh Tambe as SP Buldhana, Nitin Bagate as SP Ratnagiri, and Ritu Khokar as SP Dharashiv.
This reshuffle is viewed as a tactical exercise to bolster policing infrastructure and ensure efficient governance, particularly in sensitive and high-priority regions.
