In a major administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has transferred 14 IPS officers, including key district police chiefs. The changes, announced late Monday night, underline another strategic restructuring within the state’s police hierarchy.

Prominent among the reshuffles is the appointment of 2006 batch IPS officer Mohit Gupta, currently Inspector General of Police, Varanasi Range, as Secretary (Home) in the Uttar Pradesh Government, Lucknow. Ajay Kumar Sahni, a 2009 batch IPS officer and DIG Saharanpur, has been posted as DIG, Bareilly Range.

2010 batch IPS officer Vaibhav Krishna, earlier serving as DIG for the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, will now take charge as DIG, Varanasi Range. Abhishek Singh, 2011 batch IPS officer and SSP Muzaffarnagar, has been elevated to DIG, Saharanpur Range.

In a direct swap between two sensitive districts, Raj Karan Nayyar, 2012 batch IPS officer and SSP Ayodhya, has been appointed the new SSP Gorakhpur. Meanwhile, 2013 batch officer Dr. Gaurav Grover, the incumbent SSP Gorakhpur, has been shifted to Ayodhya as SSP.

  • Sanjai Kumar, 2014 batch promotee IPS and SSP Etawah → SSP, Muzaffarnagar
  • Anoop Kumar Singh, Commander, 35th Battalion PAC, Lucknow → SP, Fatehpur
  • Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, SP, Kaushambi → SSP, Etawah
  • Rajesh Kumar-II, DCP, Ghaziabad Commissionerate → SP, Kaushambi
  • Dhawal Jaiswal, 2016 batch IPS and SP, Fatehpur → DCP, Ghaziabad Commissionerate
  • Satyajeet Gupta, SP, Sant Kabir Nagar → DCP, Kanpur Commissionerate
  • Sandeep Kumar Meena, SP, GRP Gorakhpur → SP, Sant Kabir Nagar
  • Laxmi Nivas Mishra, SP, Anti-Corruption Organisation HQ, Lucknow → SP, GRP Gorakhpur

These transfers reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to realign law enforcement leadership in line with evolving administrative priorities across key regions in the state.
