QpiAI

Bengaluru, April 15, 2025 — In a significant stride towards advancing India’s quantum technology landscape, Bengaluru-based startup QpiAI has launched one of the nation’s most powerful quantum computers, equipped with 25 superconducting qubits. The announcement was made on the occasion of World Quantum Day, aligning with global celebrations of quantum science and its transformative potential.

QpiAI is among the eight startups selected under the National Quantum Mission (NQM), an initiative spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The startup’s quantum system, named QpiAI-Indus, marks a historic milestone as India’s first full-stack quantum computing platform, integrating quantum hardware, control systems, and software in a unified ecosystem.

The QpiAI-Indus system features a fusion of advanced superconducting quantum processors, high-performance quantum control platforms, and AI-augmented quantum software solutions. It is designed to support hybrid quantum-classical computing and is expected to revolutionise applications in life sciences, materials engineering, mobility, logistics, climate science, and sustainability.

Founded in 2019, QpiAI has quickly emerged as a leader in the Indian quantum tech space. The company has filed 11 patent applications and maintains an annual revenue of approximately ₹1 million. In addition, it has attracted significant investment support, including funding from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

As a key contributor to India’s National Quantum Mission, QpiAI is not only advancing indigenous quantum technology but also actively participating in the creation of a robust quantum talent ecosystem. The startup is committed to enhancing national quantum adoption programs and contributing to global breakthroughs in deep-tech innovation.

The launch of QpiAI-Indus represents a pivotal development in India’s pursuit of quantum excellence. It also highlights the country’s growing capabilities in building scalable and accessible quantum technologies, positioning India as a notable player on the international quantum stage.

Speaking on the occasion, QpiAI reaffirmed its vision of making quantum computing practical and transformative. The launch coincided with World Quantum Day, a global initiative that brings together scientists, researchers, policymakers, and innovators to celebrate the evolution and promise of quantum science.
