Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with a significant visit to Haryana, during which he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of several critical infrastructure projects. The day commenced with the flagging off of the first commercial flight between Hisar and Ayodhya, underlining the government’s continued commitment to strengthening regional air connectivity.
At the Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar, the Prime Minister inaugurated the maiden flight service to Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone for a new terminal building. This marks a major step forward in Haryana’s civil aviation development. The newly announced flight routes will initially operate twice a week to Ayodhya and three times a week to other cities such as Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh.
Addressing a large public gathering in Hisar, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of the day, coinciding with Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. “His values and vision continue to guide our government. Each initiative we undertake is a step towards fulfilling his dream of equality and empowerment for the marginalized,” he said.

Reflecting on his long-standing association with Haryana, PM Modi recalled the efforts of BJP workers in strengthening the party in the state. He reiterated the government’s mission of “Viksit Haryana, Viksit Bharat,” emphasizing inclusive development and infrastructure-led growth.

Taking a critical stance on past political regimes, the Prime Minister accused the Congress party of historically neglecting Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions, alleging deliberate exclusion from electoral and institutional spaces. He stated that his government remains firmly committed to upholding Ambedkar’s legacy through inclusive policies and programs focused on Dalits, backward classes, tribal communities, and women.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister travelled to Yamunanagar, where he unveiled multiple key development projects. He laid the foundation stone for an 800-MW thermal power unit at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant, aiming to bolster Haryana’s energy infrastructure.
Further, under the Government of India’s ‘Gobardhan’ initiative, PM Modi launched the construction of a compressed biogas plant in Mukarampur, Yamunanagar. This project aligns with the Centre’s broader objective of promoting sustainable and organic energy sources in rural areas.

Another major infrastructure initiative inaugurated during the visit was the 14.4-kilometre-long Rewari Bypass, developed at a cost of approximately ₹1,070 crore under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. The bypass is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and enhance logistics efficiency in the region.
The visit marked Prime Minister Modi’s first appearance in Yamunanagar in over a decade. Security arrangements were reinforced for the occasion, with over 3,000 police personnel, including 10 IPS officers and 29 DSPs, deployed to ensure public safety.
