The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on April 8, 2025, aimed at financing large-scale infrastructure projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
As part of this MoU, HUDCO has committed to exploring and extending financial assistance of up to ₹1,50,000 crore over a five-year period. The agreement also includes consultancy and capacity-building support from HUDCO to empower MMRDA in meeting its growing institutional and developmental requirements.

The signing took place in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and HUDCO Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kulshrestha.

This strategic partnership represents a transformative step toward enhancing urban infrastructure in one of India’s most densely populated and economically vital regions. It underscores HUDCO’s commitment to sustainable urban development and integrated planning across the country.
