The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) moves forward with the speed of its wheels and the trust of the public. Since its establishment in 1964, this journey has been progressing towards continuous development. With a commitment to providing smooth, comfortable, and safe travel to the people of the state, the corporation has achieved unprecedented progress over the past year under the state government’s leadership. Improvements in passenger load, revenue generation, safety measures, new bus operations, vehicle tracking, and modernization of bus stands have enhanced the travel experience in RSRTC buses.
STEADY LEADERSHIP FOR GROWTH
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa has successfully managed the corporation’s operations in the first year of the government’s tenure, leading it towards steady growth. Whether it is fulfilling the dreams of students appearing for competitive exams or ensuring a safe journey for women and girls, the corporation has taken every possible step.

SAFER TRAVEL WITH PANIC BUTTONS

To enhance passenger safety, especially for women travellers, RSRTC has installed panic buttons in its buses. Women, differently-abled individuals, senior citizens, young children, or anyone facing a sudden medical emergency can seek immediate help using these buttons. Once pressed, an alert is sent to the Abhay Command Center, which tracks the bus location and coordinates with the bus conductor to ensure swift action. This initiative not only enhances women’s security but also provides all passengers with a safer travel experience.

MODERNIZING BUS STANDS RSRTC’s
bus stands are set to offer airport-like facilities. In the first phase, the corporation has appointed consultancy agencies to modernize bus stands in Bharatpur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Beawar, Bundi, Bikaner, Bhilwara, and Chittorgarh under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model. These upgraded bus stands will feature restaurants, cafés, air-conditioned waiting halls, separate entry and exit points for vehicles, clean public restrooms, and other modern amenities.
FULFILLING THE DEVOTEES’ ASPIRATIONS
Lord Shri Ram holds a deep place in the faith of millions of Indians. Recognizing this devotion, Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma flagged off RSRTC buses to Ayodhya on February 15, 2024, offering devotees a convenient way to visit this important cultural and religious centre.
SUPPORTING STUDENTS APPEARING FOR EXAMS RSRTC
has always supported students taking competitive exams. Previously, candidates could travel free of charge one day before and after their exam dates. Now, the corporation has extended this facility, allowing free travel from their residence or coaching centre to the exam centre and back, two days before and after the exam. In just October alone, 1.56 million students availed of this free travel benefit.
CONTINUOUS EXPANSION AND GROWTH
As Rajasthan progresses, RSRTC continues to strengthen its services. Passenger trust has increased, leading to full occupancy rates, with approximately 850,000 passengers travelling daily in RSRTC buses. The corporation has also recorded a significant rise in revenue, earning over ₹1,829 crore in just 11 months. New air-conditioned buses have been introduced on routes such as Haldwani, Govardhan, Aligarh, and Dholpur, and the busy Jaipur-Delhi route, AC buses are now operating every 1.5 hours.
To enhance passenger comfort and expand the fleet, 510 new buses have been purchased. Over the next two years, RSRTC plans to procure 300 more new buses, introduce 300 service model buses, and add 200 electric buses on a contract basis.
FREE AND DISCOUNTED TRAVEL WITH RFID CARDS RFID
cards have brought free and discounted travel benefits to the people of Rajasthan. In the past year, over 120 million passengers have availed of these benefits, with approximately 2.5 million RFID cards issued so far. Journalists, freedom fighters, differently-abled individuals, medal winners, senior citizens, and competitive exam candidates are among those benefiting from these cards.
HONOURING SENIOR CITIZENS AND DEMOCRACY ACTIVISTS
The state government has taken a new initiative to provide free travel to democracy activists who fought during the Emergency. Additionally, RSRTC has increased its respect for senior citizens by offering fare concessions. Citizens aged 60 to 80 now receive a 50% discount on bus fares.
