The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) is set to launch two groundbreaking initiatives, Aarambh and Innov8, which aim to revolutionise Raipur’s startup ecosystem and significantly boost employment opportunities. This strategic move is closely aligned with Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Startup India initiative, which seeks to transform India from a nation of job seekers to one of job creators, thereby driving economic growth and enhancing the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

Aarambh and Innov8 will serve as dynamic hubs for co-working, co-learning, and co-skilling, positioning Raipur as a leader in India’s entrepreneurial and innovation landscape. Under the visionary leadership of the Honourable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, this initiative underscores a strong commitment to promoting innovation and job creation. Through incubation programs, co-working spaces, and skill development centres, these projects aim to generate over 3,000 new jobs and offer 10,000 training opportunities, cultivating a highly skilled and diverse workforce.

LEADERSHIP DRIVING TRANSFORMATION

The success of Aarambh and Innov8 is attributed to the unwavering dedication and leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration & Development Minister Arun Sao. His efforts, along with the commitment of the Department of Urban Administration and Development and Urban Secretary Baswaraju S, have played a crucial role in establishing Raipur as a hub for startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Additionally, the active involvement of Collector Dr Gaurav Singh and Municipal Commissioner Abinash Mishra has been instrumental in shaping this initiative. Their tireless dedication to Raipur’s development and hands-on guidance have transformed municipal assets into thriving centres of economic activity. Commissioner Mishra, having experience as a former startup founder, brings valuable insights into ensuring the sustainability and success of Aarambh and Innov8. His deep understanding of the startup ecosystem, coupled with strong administrative support, guarantees that Raipur’s transformation is future-ready.

AARAMBH: A CATALYST FOR INNOVATION AND JOB CREATION

Aarambh is more than a co-working space; it is a comprehensive platform integrating co-learning, co-skilling, and incubation to support students, entrepreneurs, and businesses. Its key features include:

• Internship opportunities for students through partnerships with esteemed institutions such as Rungta, Shankara, IIT, IIM, and ITM University.
• Affordable co-working spaces for startups and businesses, enhancing innovation at a sustainable cost.
• Support for companies from Tier-I cities to establish satellite teams in Raipur, creating a robust ecosystem for job creation and economic growth.
• The creation of over 3,000 new jobs through incubation and co-working spaces, along with 10,000 training opportunities in skill development.

Furthermore, the government is set to establish a Skill Development Center, a Center of Excellence, and a Center for Skill and Technical Training to further enhance Raipur’s standing as an innovation and job creation hub. A dedicated lab focused on social media-based employment opportunities will also be introduced, providing a unique avenue for economic expansion.

INNOV8: A HISTORIC FIRST FOR TIER-II CITIES

Innov8, a renowned co-working brand from OYO, is making its first-ever entry into a Tier-II city with its launch in Raipur. This groundbreaking initiative will further solidify Raipur’s reputation as an emerging startup hub. With state-of-the-art infrastructure at affordable rates, Innov8 will make Raipur an attractive destination for businesses looking to establish a presence in non-metro cities. This move reflects Raipur’s growing prominence in India’s startup landscape and its increasing appeal to entrepreneurs and investors alike.
